Bloomberg reports that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner's closest aides earned millions of dollars a year working for Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and other Wall Street firms. Bloomberg reports that none of these aides faced Senate confirmation. Yet, they are overseeing the handout of hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer funds to their former employers.

The gifts of billions of dollars of taxpayers' money provided the banks with an abundance of low cost capital that has boosted the banks' profits, while the taxpayers who provided the capital are increasingly unemployed and homeless.

JPMorgan Chase announced that it has earned $3.6 billion in the third quarter of this year.

Goldman Sachs has made so much money during this year of economic crisis that enormous bonuses are in the works. London Evening Standard reports that Goldman Sachs' “5,500 London staff can look forward to record average payouts of around 500,000 pounds ($800,000) each. Senior executives will get bonuses of several million pounds each with the highest paid as much as 10 million pounds ($16 million).“

The political system is unresponsive to the American people. This is very true, what's going on in this country beside counting unemployed people, foreclosures or bankruptcies?

What are the government actions? That's what the American people wants to know!

After all the beautiful speeches from each side, I am a little bit disappointed.

Allen, It seems like a wait and see situation, pretty sad to live this kind of policies. I was talking with another business owner this morning and learn that in his field 10 stores are out of business. He tried to negociate his rent with the landlord, but unfortunately it was refused.

So things are not going to be better anytime soon.

I fear that if one reads the history books with an open mind one will discover that has always been true to some extent.

The political system is unresponsive to the American people.

The major parties certainly are. And a single Independant elected will have no chance to change anything.

After all the beautiful speeches from each side, I am a little bit disappointed.

So hope and change isn't working out to well for you? Sorry.

The saddest thing is I not only feel your pain, I happen to agree with it. Even sadder is that for the first time in my life I can't hink of a way to approach changing it. D***** sad world to leave my children.

So we are in an impasse.

The history books said each time there is a major world economic crisis it's war. I may be wrong.

I am old enough to be realistic, hope it's what the politicians want you to believe and they are good at it, they are dreams salesman.

I remember what my father in law always said: "How do you tell if a politician is lying? His lips are moving."
