Obama declares H1N1 emergency
President Obama has declared a national emergency to deal with the "rapid increase in illness" from the H1N1 influenza virus.
"The 2009 H1N1 pandemic continues to evolve. The rates of illness continue to rise rapidly within many communities across the nation, and the potential exists for the pandemic to overburden health care resources in some localities," Obama said in a statement.
"Thus, in recognition of the continuing progression of the pandemic, and in further preparation as a nation, we are taking additional steps to facilitate our response."
The president signed the declaration late Friday and announced it Saturday.

I would have to say it's about time! We have to take action and it should have been done much sooner. Think of all of the people we could save from getting sick or pass away of only action were taken sooner.

WE SHOULD take this as our own problem and make our home and family people aware of this health

This isn't just "our" problem, almost every country in this world has the H1N1 infections spreading like crazy. This is everyone's problem.
Map of current Swine Flu infection on Earth:

Red, confirmed cases.
Blank, non-confirmed.

It's a National Emergency now?
I'm sooooo scared! (Yeah, right.) Obama can't scare me into getting a flu shot.
They only did this so hospitals are relieved of following the mind-numbing federal guidelines. Not such a bad thing to do. Hospitals that can breathe easier can treat more patients.
Just wash your hands ALL the time, stop rubbing your eyes with your hands (put a Kleanex between your eyes and your hand) and avoid large crowds and you'll be fine.

Here's the 'real' national emergency: job losses, small business going broke, unemployment rising, homelessness rising, no manufacturing base.
Instead of running around raising funds for loser Democratic candidates, flying to Greece to stump for putting the Olympic Games in Chicago and jamming health care reform down our throats, Obama should try behaving like a president and do something that actually helps his country.
Oh, wait, is America really 'his' country?

Let's just hope it doesn't get out of control. My friend's girlfriend went to the doctors the other day because she was feeling sick, her doctor said she probably has it.

As expected, the H1N1 influenza virus threat appears to be easing among children but increasing among adults. Still, children continue to be at risk and should be among the first to be vaccinated, a state health official said Thursday

That's great the state takes it seriously as it's time to take close control over the problem of the swine flu. I think everybody is ready to follow all the restrictions and limitations as we are speaking about people's lives.

Good money to be made and the pharma's are going to get big on this and it comes at a good time during the economy.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TB5-Y...eature=related <-- Worth watching.
An associate of mine is a scientist researching cures for AstraZeneca (pharmaceutical) and even he mentioned that there is good money to be made in scaremongering.
Just be careful guys as the injections have caused issues before.

There's always money to be made by scare-mongering.
Look at us internet marketers. Does our sales page copy not include such things as For a limited time only! or Get in while you can! or Only 30 Copies Will Be released!
Of course.
Only difference here is major corporations are using the power of the U.S. government to scare the heck out of American citizens. Nothing like getting the President of the United States to start shilling for your product...and they also use the American media. How else do we learn of the latest deaths from the H1N1 flu and how absolutely terrible it is if we catch it?
Absolutely unconscionable. We need someone to be a president and lead this country, we sure as heck don't need another Billy Mays to hawk products at us day and night.
