Cool! TARP extended to small biz. How can I get some?

Quote:
Dec 09, 2009
Treasury extends TARP to homeowners, small businesses

After propping up banks and Wall Street with $700 billion, the U.S. Treasury will extend its bailout program for a year — to help struggling homeowners, small businesses and consumers needing credit.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner delivered the news to Congress today, saying the extension of the Troubled Asset Relief Program is needed as a cushion against possible future shocks. He foresees using not more than $550 billion of the additional $700 billion, saying it is "necessary to assist American families and stabilize financial markets."

"The recovery of our financial system remains incomplete," Geithner wrote in a letter to House and Senate leaders. "And, near- term shocks to that system could undermine the economic recovery we have seen to date."
Read Geithner's letter.

Full story here.

My question: How can I get my hands on some of that money so I can expand my business? Which small banks are going to get this money?

After reviewing your posts to date on these forums, I have the duty to tell you that you and a snowball have about the same chance.

Not your post quality.

I am referring to your political views. They just aren't the party views. Probably better if we both just speculate which party that is.

Interesting that the big banks got more bailout money than the people did.
Not too difficult to see where the government's priorities are, huh?

They should have let the banks fail.

Instead of removing the bandaid quickly by letting the banks fail, the government opted for the slow but torturous method by pumping cash into the banks.
But make no mistake, the bandaid is coming off.

Ha! You're funny! Don't you know I'm a true blue Democrat?

No, wait, that's not true. I didn't much care for Jimmy Carter.

Okay, I'm a Republican, yeah that's it.

I think. I didn't like Bush or Cheney, so maybe I'm not.

Maybe I'm a Libertarian?

"Libertarianism is, as the name implies, the belief in liberty. Libertarians strive for the best of all worlds - a free, peaceful, abundant world where each individual has the maximum opportunity to pursue his or her dreams and to realize his full potential.

"The core idea is simply stated, but profound and far-reaching in its implications. Libertarians believe that each person owns his own life and property, and has the right to make his own choices as to how he lives his life - as long as he simply respects the same right of others to do the same.

"Another way of saying this is that libertarians believe you should be free to do as you choose with your own life and property, as long as you don't harm the person and property of others."

http://www.libertarianism.com/what-it-is.htm

Yeah, that's it. I don't believe in forcing others to do what they don't wish to do, well, unless they are members of Congress or the president or vice president.

So I must be a Libertarian with a twist (quite a twist, actually, and possibly a bit of a kink, too.)

I know I'm not a Whig 'cause I still have all of my hair.

Wouldn't that be something if the banks checked online during the loan approval process to see what we've posted online about the current administration?

"I'm sorry, but your loan application has been denied."

"Gee, was it something I said?"
