Countries should revise Nuclear Reactor installation policy after Japan Crisis?

Hi

What you think about it.. Nuclear reactor installation policies should be revised.. or we are in danger of bigger crisis when there are more natural disasters like it.

The question we should ask, is are there any safety contingencies that can prevent the most powerful and destructive force on this planet to stop things like this happening again.

The downside to that idea is, with enough re-thinking, there will never be another nuclear plant built. (Many of the people pushing for a re-thinking would be quite happy with that outcome.)

I think safety measures would be doubled in nuclear reactors. It should not be threat for any resident at a distance of 10 km. Safety should be guaranteed in any worst condition too and the remote installation of reactors should satisfy all safety measures.

Safety measures is not enough if disaster like this would hit our planet..How much more if the disaster is much distractive. I think shutdown the reactor and find a better solution

When we started nuclear power plants we didn't understand the power of it and how to maintain it, and it was learn as you go. Have we learned everything we need to. Evidently not because this scenario has caused us to go look at our nuclear power plants and think about them? How old they are, if we have all the safety measures in place etc. Why does it take a catastrophe to stay up on something this dangerous. I think yes we should look at different safer ways of doing things. Unfortunately we learn through trail and error and events like this. A very costly education don't you think?

We learn from our mistakes. Japan crisis was just another learning curve. We will hopefully be more clear with our measures. In my country we are yet to establish a nuclear power plant. It's been a while and we don't know when we are going to have it in operation. I'm sure they will learn from Japan's disaster. Because we are in risk of quake as well
