Your take on muslim countrys boycott of denmark
So in september last year a danish newspaper published some drawings of mohammed. The story was that a danish author couldent find illustrators to illustrate his new book on mohammed (they where afraid after the Theo van Gogh killing), so the newspaper asked some illustrators to make some drawings of mohammed, they then published some of the drawings in the newspaper.
This thing has now escaleted into a boycott of danish products in muslim countrys and the calling back of muslim diplomats, bacause Some of the muslim communitys want the danih goverment to issue a public apology and gag the press.
A lot of websites/blogs that told about the story and had some of the drawings are down right now because muslim hacker groups hacked the servers. Death/terror treats have been sent to the paper, the author of the book and the illustrators.
What do you think about all this???
One of the few links i could find that isent hacked http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/a...a_imam_de.html
The drawings can be seen as thumbnails in google(the ones with pics.jp.dk as the link) http://images.google.com/images?q=mo...&sa=N&filter=0

In my opinion the Danish government, and press should not give in to a bunch of religious fanatics who think they can order everyone else what-and-what-not to be published.
As for those fanatics, it shows what a bunch of morons they really are.
Funk them.

Me thinks the whole world is tired of religious fanatics, it's not just muslims, it's Christians too. They both fight for world domination since centuries (with the fanatics in the front lines) and it's getting to a point where it really begins to work on everyone elses nerves. With the undustrial and media developments and their powers to used those the past 50 years they became a frikking danger (more like a pest) to humanity.

It's misinterpretation thats the problem.
Some Muslims groups and most Christian denominations do not understand the book they are supposed to live their lives by dude.
Where in the Koran does it say that you will be rewarded if you kill yourself and take a lot of people from other faiths with you?
Where in the Bible does it say that Religion or Christianity should get involved within the political structure? - But they still do.
Muslims should not get annoyed at peoples interpretations of Mohamed just like Christians should not get annoyed at peoples interpretations of Christ.

I really don't see a lot of Christians cutting off the heads of people who disagree with them.

I agree to that but then there is a more sinister side to Christianity when you get people like George Bush who (accordingly) is being driven by God.
That is pretty dangerous in itself.

I agree with Ferre. I think the inability of most religions to "live and let live" is the main problem.
The religious right has such a strangle hold on the US right now, they are becoming less and less democratic. And it boils down to their inability to allow others to live as they wish. This new muslim issue is no different. They want to tell others how to live their lives.
Looking at the situation on a more personal level... I am a very spiritual person, but I wouldn't say I am religious. I believe in "live and let live". If you want to be muslim, fine. If you want to be christian, fine. I fully support your decision to practice whatever faith you want. But, just keep in mind that it is YOUR faith and it was YOUR decision. I have to be allowed to follow MY own path. As long as we can agree on that, we can be friends.
I have had friends that woke up one day and "discovered" their faith in God. I have no problem with that. But, it has cost me friends in the past because it is a path that I do not want to follow. I was OK with their path. They weren't OK with mine.

Nope, they have different ways of barbarism, but not less barbaric. It's just a matter of how you look at it I guess. here in the west we got used to the barbarism of Christianity, in such a way that we don't even see it anymore, we tend to only see the barbarism of others and look at ourselves as innocent babies. Bush is a Christian, the people who torture muslims in the US 'terrorist' concentration camps are christians, Idi Amin, remember the dude? He was a Christian too, and I can go on, even Hitler really believed that he was doing Christianity a favour.
Christians and Muslims are allways pointing at eachother but all I see is that they are both populated by powermongering fanatics who'll do anything to dominate the world.

Exactly, they have their own agenda and it isn't Koran / Bible based.
It's what I have been saying all along. A majority of these dinominations do not follow their own book which is partly where the problem lies.

And it will never gets solved because no one will ever admit that it is indeed in those scriptures that the problem lies. They do not quote Donald Duck comics now do they?

Misinterpretation and selective reading dude. Nothing to do with the scriptures.
If they did not abide by their selective reading, they would realise just where they were going wrong.

I'm tired of a group trying to force its beliefs onto others and using religion as an excuse to oppress women. Sure, you can say that about the force part about many religions, but I am so sick and tired of hearing people explain islam to me. In the quaran there is enormous hatred against Jews and Christians. I don't think that political correctess will get us too much further. So if I've offended anyone, I stand by what I've said anyways, no intent to offend. I just think Islam is indeed full of evil and hatred. And if you look at the scripture, their goal is to conquer the world by the sword. And if people here knew how hatred against Jews is being taught in schools in most Islamic nations - they would see a much clearer picture IMO.

Agreed.
I can oppress them quite happily on my own without any help from others.

I must have missed that bit.
I thought it said 'Those who live by the sword will die by the sword' and also ' They will beat their swords into plough shears etc'
