Headline: Red meats kills you 13% faster

Now please take the time to read the article and understand why headlines can be deceptive.

Quote:
Harvard Medical School researchers have concluded that a diet high in red meat can shorten life expectancy.

They studied the diets and health of more than 120,000 people over the course of more than 20 years and found that red meat is associated with an increased risk of fatal heart disease and terminal cancer.

I think it has to do with eating higher on the food chain so that one takes in more
toxins, carcinogens, etc. Doubt we needed a study to figure this out.
Interesting god gave the Hebrews a dietary order to cut the fat off the lean
meat and throw it into the fire some 3,000 years ago.

So all those headlines, and it turns out we are talking about whether you might live to age 79 or 80.
I will keep my red meat, thank you very much.

Thats correct about the red meat, and also that it stays in the system so much longer than it should due to the body struggling to break it down, and seems to store itself in the upper colon area.

Solution is to eat it, enjoy it and have an enema every week as that'll flush the bugger out

He'd never beat Paula Deen in a cookoff. Fortunately the Bible never made it big as a cookbook in Texas.

Somebody always has something to say about what we should and shouldn't eat. It gets on my friggin nerves. If I wanna die fast and eat Mickey D's every day, that's my business. If I wanna eat raw food and die slow that's my business too.

It's always something. It's mad cow disease, and HFCS, and mayonnaise, and peanut butter, and tomatoes. All this is crap. You know why? Because the gubment wants to control us.

I'm gonna have to start growin my own damn food. Maybe I should just move outta the country. I don't know. Something's gotta give. I stopped watching the news years ago.

I think the news directly leads to depression and Prozac sales. If we all stopped watching, they couldn't sell any more. And that would be a BIG problem. LoL.

Paula sure knows knows how to load the carbs into her dishes. The wife made her ultimate mac and cheese. Way too rich for my tastes. Plus you need to become a greedy banker to afford it.

The findings are not new. Red meat contains more of the lousy LDL than that present in white meat. But that spells doom on the chickens...

I can pretty much guarantee that this will have ZERO effect on my consumption of red meat.

Hmm, there is nothing better than a steak with potatoes and mushroom sauce. Problem is, if I had my way I would probably eat it almost daily. I have made one or two changes to the way I cook. I add more veggies and keep more fruit around the house, and make fruit salads and stuff. The five a day thing we have going here works, even if it won't do what it says it will. They say that a serving of 5 fruits and veg a day helps fight cancer. And also that tomatoes do the same thing. I've cut red meat down to about 2 or 3 times a week, substituting it with chicken and fish. I just don't like the fish part.

If you think about it though, what did prehistoric man eat back in the day?

You seem awfully eager to throw off the old ways for a conservative.
I'm just glad god didn't say anything about cinnabuns. Or coffee.
My two primary food groups, btw.

I was raised in a state with beef cattle walking around the pasture, game in the woods, and worked through college as a butcher.
Eating red meat IS "the old way". [see Genesis 27:3 where God endorses Texans]

And had the bible said anything nasty about coffee we'd probably all be Hindu or something.

Yeah but they're headquartered outta Florida. Look at a storm map, God clearly hates Florida to begin with.

Blessings aren't accompanied by 100mph winds. Our droughts aren't a sign of heavenly displeasure, just a matter of location. Texas isn't Hell*, but on a clear day in August you can see it from here.

*NOTE: West Texas was however made from parts that were discarded as "just too damned hot" when it was built.

I don't know about that. That southern part seems pretty darn close to me.
