Canadian company TransCanada says it will build an oil pipeline from Oklahoma to Texas after President Barack Obama blocked the larger Keystone XL pipeline from Canada. The company says the new project does not require presidential approval since it does not cross a U.S. border. The shorter pipeline is expected to cost about $2.3 billion and be completed in 2013. The Obama administration had suggested development of an Oklahoma-to-Texas line to alleviate an oil glut at a Cushing, Okla., storage hub.

That's good information

I just have to wonder when reading articles like this and seeing things like foreign countries building our freeways, why it is that there are not American companies to take care of things like that? Just sayin'.

Hopefully, there will be some relief in gas prices soon.

States are busy trying to open drilling on public lands - I guess they'll need to play close attention to oil delivery issues.

Gas prices aren't just a function of oil. Refinery capacity also plays a part. There have been closures in Europe and North America recently which causes pressure at the pump.

Gas prices are also the victim of speculation which is driven by emotion in the marketplace and consumer perception.

While you can point to this and point to that, it really boils down to simple supply and demand. The same thing that dictates that cost of about everything. We are willing to pay $3.75 a gallon and the gas companies are willing to sell it at that price. And before you say you don't have a choose, yes you do. It is just that those chooses are less attractive to you than $3.75 a gallon gas.
