The nanny state of New York bans big drinks

Enacting a long discussed new law, the nanny state of New York bans big drinks. Soft drinks with sugar are now limited to a maximum size of 16 ounces.

if they are that desperate - just buy (2) 16oz drinks ....

McDonald's will shortly be printing the Caloric amounts for their meals due to similar legislation.

the requirement to inform the consumer of the Caloric value is a better and proper law if the issue is not voluntarily made public when requested - as there are people who would like to be informed about necessary information in selecting a product.

Perhaps that would have been a better way for the soft drinks - post the calories and let the buyer be aware.

I find disturbing that GMO labelling is a least concern compared to caloric information on products.

People need to be informed on each product.

I fully agree with posting calorie counts. It should have been done a long time ago. Restricting my choices is a whole different ball game.

This stinks, when I work for my uncle once and awhile up north which is on the border of NY, I may get the urge to go to NY to eat. No big drinks?

WTF, I'll have to bring my from Jersey now.

What a stupid law.

I think it should be up to us what we want to drink and how much we want to drink. In my opinion that is; they are focusing on the little things and not focusing enough on bigger points "no pun intended".
