Starbucks joins fiscal cliff foray

Starbucks is asking their employees to write "come together" on the coffee cups in Washington DC.

I hope those employees can spell or it could get real interesting.

Sometimes I get into the dirty mindset. And that would probably be one of those times. I'd end up writing it with the u instead of the o.

lol xd

Chief Executive Howard Schultz is urging workers in Starbucks' roughly 120 Washington-area shops to write "come together" on customers' cups on Thursday and Friday, as U.S. President Barack Obama and lawmakers return to work and attempt to revive fiscal cliff negotiations that collapsed before the Christmas holiday.

thought first he was encouraging his customers to write the message - why would having his employees write the message be useful ?

Quote:
"There is something so wrong that we can be here again and not have the ability to put party aside for the betterment of the country," said Schultz. "We have the same language and rhetoric. Unfortunately we aren't learning much."

actually they did accomplish (something) last August 2011 because we are "here again" and forced by a law to take some sort of action - or go over the cliff.

after the collapse of the 112th House Republicans last week - going over the cliff might be the best answer - though a shock it would put in stark reality a workable plan forcing legislation to make adjustments.

depending on your persuasion the ending of the 112th Congress certainly did not correspond to its lopsided beginning. - Looking forwards to a better 113th.
