What took them so long? That's what China does to the EU, US, and other countries...

EU slaps levies on Chinese solar panel imports

Quote:
The European Union says it is imposing anti-dumping levies on imports of Chinese solar panels.

EU Trade Commissioner Karel de Gucht said Tuesday the 27-country bloc will impose a tariff of about 12% immediately. It will increase that to 47% starting in August.

The tariffs will become permanent in six months if the EU Commission, the bloc's executive arm, and China do not manage to negotiate a settlement by then.

De Gucht says "the ball is now in China's court."

China is the world's largest producer of solar panels and is accused by the EU of selling them below-cost to corner the market. Its exports of solar panels to Europe totaled 21 billion euros in 2011.

It is a "deja vu", that's how historically WWI and WWII started. Actually China is increasing his military budget...

China is the only nuclear weapon state expanding its nuclear arsenal

The french deputy states that "we should respect referendums and democracy".
Oh that's fun!
France had a referendum about joining the eu and accepting the EU constitution, and the french people said no (the NO won with 54,67% with about 70% of the population voting, so quite a a clear answer).
Still, our government under president Sarkozy voted us in...
Yeah that's right, give lessons about how we should respect the people will mr DAUL...
BTW i'm french (and utterly disgusted)
I couldn't say it better Chris!

Daul is an hypocrite like many other French politicians...

BREAKING: European Commission to criminalize nearly all seeds and plants not registered with government

Quote:
A new law proposed by the European Commission would make it illegal to "grow, reproduce or trade" any vegetable seeds that have not been "tested, approved and accepted" by a new EU bureaucracy named the "EU Plant Variety Agency."

It's called the Plant Reproductive Material Law, and it attempts to put the government in charge of virtually all plants and seeds. Home gardeners who grow their own plants from non-regulated seeds would be considered criminals under this law.

The draft text of the law, which has already been amended several times due to a huge backlash from gardeners, is viewable here.

"This law will immediately stop the professional development of vegetable varieties for home gardeners, organic growers, and small-scale market farmers," said Ben Gabel, vegetable breeder and director of The Real Seed Catalogue. "Home gardeners have really different needs - for example they grow by hand, not machine, and can't or don't want to use such powerful chemical sprays. There's no way to register the varieties suitable for home use as they don't meet the strict criteria of the Plant Variety Agency, which is only concerned about approving the sort of seed used by industrial farmers."

It looks like the dictature at work...I guess Henry Kissinger said: "Control oil and you control nations; control food and you control the people."

Hollande vows to combat ‘national malaise’ as popularity rating drops to 26%

Quote:
French President Francois Hollande has pledged to fight what he calls the national malaise as the country continues to grapple with economic woes and his popularity rating plummets.

“We must not succumb to self-criticism… For years we have been the most pessimistic country in Europe, in the world even. There are countries at war that are more optimistic than we are,” Hollande said on Sunday.

Commenting on a recent opinion poll that showed his popularity rating had dropped to 26 percent, the French president said, “I am not looking to be popular. My duty is higher than that.”

The French market research and opinion poll institute Ifop conducted telephone interviews of 1,865 French people aged 18 or over between June 14 and June 22 for the survey, and the results were published by the French newspaper Journal du Dimanche on June 23.

Hollande’s popularity rating has dropped three points since the Ifop poll in May, when 29 percent of respondents had a favorable view of the French president.

In the June poll, 73 percent of the respondents said they were dissatisfied with Hollande and one percent expressed no view.

Hollande’s popularity rating is worse than almost all previous French presidents at the same time in their terms.

On July 12, the global ratings agency Fitch cut France’s credit rating from AAA to AA+ over the country’s vague economic outlook and the need for structural reform in the world's fifth largest economy.

Fitch forecast that the French economy would shrink by 0.3 percent in 2013.

The downgrade represents another serious challenge to the French president, who is struggling to revive an economy that has barely grown in more than two years and to tackle unemployment, which soared to a 15-year high of 10.9 percent in May.

Even though Hollande’s government has increased taxes and implemented several reforms and spending cuts in an attempt to lower the country's huge debt load, the measures have proven unproductive since the financial crisis in the eurozone has not been resolved and the 17-member bloc is still bogged down in recession.

What can do the French government (lost sovereignty) about the economy, banks, and trades when the central European kommandantur dictate our lifes?
