Is Paula Dean getting a fair shake?

This thread is not about the n word or whether it is okay to use it or not. Just accept the fact fact that whites can't use it and black folks can. I personally find it an offensive racial term no matter who uses it.

Is the media on a crusade or does Paula deserve what she is experiencing. She admits having allowed it to pass her lips at some point in the past. How, when and in what context doesn't seem to matter.

I wonder how many of those who are stoning her never let a racial term pass their lips. The Hollywood group is fairly well know for bashing Christians, Jews and others. Which of them is allowed to cast the first stone?

I've personally never used that particular word but I've definitely made comments that were insensitive to various racial and religious groups. Anyone who says they haven't is in denial. I've never been a fan of Paula Dean anyway but I don't think being honest about something she said years ago should end her career.

Is she getting a fair shake? I don't think so.
She was asked by an attorney if she'd ever used the n-word and she told the truth. Yes, but long ago.
The woman is 66 years old. Times were different then. Of course she's used the word.
Who among us, who is in their 40s or later, has never, ever said the word? Even in our childhood?
So, for this, they need to crucify her? Seems harsh.

Oh yes, the first amendment of the U.S constitution, I read it twice in some site I now can't remember. Will you punish her for saying that thing? Well settled is the rule that "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it" Is this constitutional thing, "Freedom of speech" Does it mean nothing anymore today? My sympathy goes to Paula.
