Texas pastor shoots nephew dead at church on Sunday

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2013/07/2...rch-on-sunday/

Quote:
A Texas pastor is being accused of murder for allegedly fatally shooting his nephew on Sunday.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to KBMT that Pastor Luther Jones of the Belgrade Baptist Church was being held on a murder charge.

Juanita Jones told KJAS that her brother, 34-year-old Curtis Jones, was on the way to another church when someone signaled for him to pull into the Belgrade Baptist Church parking lot. Curtis Jones was reportedly shot at least three times through the passenger side window.

Baptists, pfft.

But seriously, tragic. If you have a volatile temper, perhaps it's best not to own guns.

Once is temper, but 3 times?
STill agree with what you say though, but how do you test somebody's temper?

Yea.. thats almost the same thing as the guy who shot the kids who ran up in his store to rob him. Thing is that he shot one of the kids a few too many times and I think was arrested. i guess same goes for self defense as for insanity or temper... It has to be a quick reaction, not a prolonged effort.

Maybe more thorough psychological examination before allowing someone to own and potentially use a gun?

Right now you can get a gun as easy as you can get a driver's license... which is way too easy too. That's why 9/10 people's driving skills are s**t and that's also why jackasses nowadays shoot their relatives in churches.

Pretty sure it's cultural. You could give Japanese people guns and they wouldn't be shooting people at anywhere near the rate that Americans shoot people. But then Americans tend to believe that they have to be true to their feelings, while Japanese people think of emotions as destructive and to be ruled by reason.

Soooo you're saying once a Japanese person touches US soil they loose their culture?? I used to work in Japan town in SF and do you wanna know how many Japanese guys that didn't speak english had guns like uzi's and the such? Too many to list. I think your theory is wrong my friend... It is the person, not the culture...
