Thumbs down Does Everything Have To Be A Debate? / Preschool Dancer goes Rogue

I was watching a cute video about a little girl who seemed to be dancing to the beat of her own drum in a pre-school tap dance recital.

I could not imagine watching this video and coming out of it with anything more than a huge smile.

Preschool Tap Dancer goes Rogue
http://www.manrepeller.com/best_of_i...oes-rogue.html

Some of the comments following the story totally blew me away.

Quote:
"I felt she pretty much ruined the number for the other little girls."
Quote:
"It's going to be really funny 20 years from now when LaQueshia there is on the six-o'clock news for not having any self-control and committing a crime."
Quote:
"Blondie Becky was doing the dance like she was taught, and I was giving her credit for being able to do as well as she did with the out of control little hyperactive off her meds ..... wasn't funny at all to me."
Quote:
"Another spoiled brat being applauded for "acting out". It's all about "me" & "look at me" as this video so clearly indicates. Misbehaving and stealing all the attention by misbehaving and getting into the face of the girl next to her on a couple occasions. Disgusting."
Oh my gosh! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She is just a little girl. Do we seriously have to fight about everything these days?

For those who just want to watch the video...

In a politically correct society, yes.
Everything must be debated ad nauseam.

Guess who's got their own solo act for the next pageant.

Geez! People are so friggin rude. She's like 3 years old! 4 at most! I'm amazed that she even memorized and performed half the routine at that age. She was just adding a little flair. Kids that age are all over the place. Come complain to me when she does this at 14. But that young? Come on people.

That's ridiculous! I have a four year old and like GeekGhost says she is all over the place, and would probably be the one going her own way. I thought all of the little girls did great!

I know it's been almost a month since this has been commented on but I've had a thing or two to do in the last couple of weeks and am catching up.

Watching this and seeing the comments that Cricket highlighted almost brings tears to my eyes.

She's just having a good time. She's having fun.

There have been 3.5 million views.

When did we become a society of goose-steppers? Opinionated, loud mouth who haas?

What if she really is a little ADHD.... the implication is that we medicate her. There is the suggestion that any behavior that is individualistic (is that a word?) is some sort of aberration and needs to be stopped.

I also don't care for the racial overtone of the comments as well.

Too many times I've sat in the audience and the mother of the son singing loudly in the wrong key, or wanting to leave the stage or whatever.

Why can't we just let kids be kids? Encourage them. Love on them. It's not broadway.

Dance on, little girl. When you're older, let's be friends. We'll give the world grief together.

Amen!

I was always that little girl that was marching to the beat of the drummer that only I seemed to hear. Just dance...

I do know for a fact that there has been an embarrassed 10-year old in the world because I have been known to spontaneously ... dance. In public.

Especially if there is music. Sometimes, even if there is not.

I make my own.

He'll get over it.
