The Royal Palms was paying $218,484 a year, but after being changed to a lower-risk flood zone, now pays only $6,845, saving 97 percent.

Elsewhere in Gulf Shores, homeowners are paying as much as $12,000 a year in flood insurance premiums for their single-family homes, according to insurance records.
Now why would FEMA do this - giving condos a break and shafting homeowners? Sounds like someone's palm was heavily greased.

This shows why we should not allow lobbyist. Large corporations and certain groups pool thier money and lobby the goverment. The only ones who do not have a lobbyist group are the regular people and small business.

Take the money out and the goverment would have to listen to the people that vote for them.

Most people today bother me. No one cares where the government sends our money. They don't understand that the money they work for is being taken and given to the corporations whom they purchase their goods from. It's an endless cycle of keep the little man down to feed the wealthy.
