for the first years of my life, i was living in austria, right in the alps, quite close to a glacier, actually so close that i could walk there within about 2 hours. nowadays you need 6 hours.

when i was living in vienna, in the 70ies white christmas was the norm, not the exception - which changed then to being the exception to the norm and today: the oldest daughter of my sister is 8 years odl, living in vienna, and she never saw snow in the city.

now i am living in spain, in alicante to be exact. since 14 years and every year the "winter" gets warmer. this year, our "coldest" day was about 15 degrees celsius and it was raining maybe for 10 days. the waterreserv0irs are down to 40 - 50 %, which should be in february/march completely full!

just three personal examples - and i am not saying that they are proof for anything! but they make me think, if there MIGHT be something true, when people warn of Global Warming.

even for the non-believers:
are you 100 % sure that nothing is happening? because if your level of certainty is anywhere below 100 %, you take quite a bet. we are not just talking of losing a few chips, we are talking of making the planet unliveable....not for us, we will have some problems with floods, storms, ice-storms in certain areas and so on. but we certainly F*** up the plant for our children and childrens/children.

i, personally, think that the risk is just to big. and where does it harm, just to be cautios? will germany go down, because they cant drive anymore on their highway as fast as they can and want? will america go down, because they cant use cars anymore, which use 2 gallons per mile?

as far as the environment is concerned and the future of the planet, i should think, the best motto is:
better safe than sorry!

very true .... it is not only the americanes to blame
very wrong.....africa, so far has done nothing wrong. and where there are things wrong in africa, they were caused by europe or america. to be explicit: it is not even so much the countries or governments - the real ones to plame are the companies and their lobbyists:

Being an activist against global warming is like being an activist against the earth being swallowed by the sun. It's gonna happen, there is nothing we can do about it, it's not the peoples fault, it's called nature. Why cause hysteria?

Yes the warming is caused by nature and the our orbit around the sun, but we are helping along the effects. There is something to be said that a 1200 square mile of glacier ice in antartica melted in 35 days!! 35 days caught by a satellite. Hmmmm.....That ice has been there for more than 600,000 years according to nasa scientists and now it melts in 35 days. There is obviously a problem and the best thing we can do is figure out some costly ways to reduce what we do to the environment, its as simple as that!

Agreed! Especially since the same 'warming' conditions are evident on all the planets in our solar system. Plus the largest ozone hole is located above antarctica where there are no carbon emissions except polar bar farts!

Global warming a serious issue for us (maldivians). It is predicted that Maldives will be in underwater in 20 - 30 years time.

There's a dude that built an ark. I undestand it's available if you can find it on Mt. Ararat!

That's good and I'm not trying to be rude. I just hate seeing post after post of people who are complaining about the way things are. I hope for yours and others the grass is greener on the other side.

rofl... I'm moving to be cultured my friend. I get it from my dad - he travels the world.

And I don't take you serious enough to find you rude, so no worries.

I don't take much serious because the world in and of itself is a joke and a half.

My hopes is that it'll make me live longer... or at least happier.
