Marijuana do you think it should be legal or not
I heard some people talking the other day in the barbershop, the topic they were discussing was marijuana. I was surprised to hear how mixed the opinions were about the subject. One opinion was that it should be illegal it's not good for you and it's dangerous and you should stay away from it .
The other opinion was that it's natural, that it won't harm you and there are a lot of other good uses for it so it should be legal.
I would like to know what everybody else thinks should it be legal or shouldn't it?

then maybe we should also go ahead and make it legal to pollute ones
own body.
also try to investgate more on the effects of what is called "spacing out"
and then mix this with driving.
I leave the rest to you to ponder about.

It already is, the pharmaceuticals, tobacco, oil, alcohol, GM companies have made sure of that for us
At least marijuana is natural and has not had it's basic structure biologically altered so as to make it nonabsorbent by the body.

marijuana (Cannabis sativa)
The main active chemical in marijuana is THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol).
The membranes of certain nerve cells in the brain contain protein receptors
that bind to THC. Once securely in place, THC kicks off a series of cellular
reactions that ultimately lead to the high that users experience when they
smoke marijuana.
marijuana Effects the Brain,Heart, and Lungs,as well as effecting the immune
system becouse THC impairs the immune system's ability to fight disease.

zcoder, you should try and read what university professors who research this issue since many years have to say about it, instead of citing a government website which is made by people who don't know much about the subject, but all about fearmongering.

Ferre,
If you are using the same rule of judgment that you use on my character,
I must then assume that your dislike of government or governments, is
clouded with the same dishonesty that you have already displayed in
these very pages of this forum, all without solid proof or facts to back
up your assumptions.
therefore I will stick with the facts I have honesty provided.

What facts have you proved here?
You seem to accept what the drug industry tells you which can say a lot about a person.
That article is so one sided as it doesn't comment on how it can also help people who are ill. It just states it all from one angle and that is not the basis to form a true picture.
Lets have another look shall we - Marijuana
Parkinsons - The reason they use marijuana substitutes is because there is no money for companies in using the real thing.

I do think that weed should be legal, totally. It basically is. What do cops do when they catch you? Take it away from you and give it to their younger cousins?

The use and possesion of Cannabis is legal in my country. It's a non-issue down here, except for the christian democrat party who always want to crack down on coffeeshops, but they are known to always want to crack down on anything that makes life fun.

alcohol - legal, marijuana - illegal
this is, for me, just absolutely not logical. icould not care less, because i do not use marijuana and i do not drink but in my opinion it should be either both legal or both illegal. i find it a little ridicolous when there are discussions in pubs, where drunk rednecks rant about the "long haired, weed smoking hippies"!
i think it is in human nature. the one likes to have a beer, the next one a doobie, the third needs sex 5 times a day and zcoder loves to wear pink g-strings (now THAT should be illegal!!!!)

I think it should be legal, banning a plant is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of, it's like banning an animal, or banning rain. Legalize it then criminalize the DEA. They've caused a lot more damage the weed ever could.

Cannabis is okay so long as you
1) dont have mental issues.
2) Dont smoke it every day.
3) Keep healthy by smoking it without tobacco.
I think teenagers go a bit mad on it due to not been fully grown and having identity stresses.
Also, the body needs stress but also needs relaxation. I smoke at weekends and get good and stoned but too much relaxation is bad and I get lazy and listless if I smoke it all the time. Everyone needs a bit of stress to get them working and busy.
Treat it as a luxury and not like cups of tea!
Thats what I think.
The Green Party support it as it is not like hard drugs.
As for stronger strains of it, I smoke it but it does hit you pretty hard. I like to chill not to be spaced out. My advice to anyone who gets mental problems when stoned is to start busying themselves with tidying or something as work wards off the negative thoughts you can get on lazy dope days.
