Of course ... here I am to comment ...

Let's see ... Lewis "Scooter" Libby ... hmmm ... lying [Reuters] to the United States Congress to help cover up a U.S. Federal Crime (violating at the very least, the federal conspiracy statute [FindLaw])(Plame makes allegations [Jurist, law.pitt.edu])(overview of the scenario [FindLaw])(the other side [Clifford D. May, National Review]) and therefore Obstructing Justice by denying the Elected Representatives of the People of the United States the opportunity to complete their investigation of the source of the potentially "treasonous" ([FindLaw, Section 3]) security leak.

Hmmm ... how much prison time? Hmmm ... okay ... I got it!

NONE!

Oh, Great Wise Bush ... please tell us ... what will you do for an encore?

Freakin' February 2009 can't come fast enough ... don't get me started on the thought of Pelosi becoming Top Dog because we threw the Evil Twins out of office ...

Let's not forget how Bush fired federal prosecutors and used executive privilege to withold documents from congress that explained why.

The last president to use executive privilege was Nixon right before he resigned.

What really gets me is how he opened up Alaska's wildlife reserve for oil drilling. All to supply less than a year's worth of oil.

What a plague on our country.

It has been said that the people generally elect the government that they deserve.
It will be interesting to see who you guys put into office next.

This is sad. We're living in a Republican dictatorship. Most presidents wait until they are leaving office before screwing the constituency by pardoning people. This is another fine example of miscarriage of justice.

It is sad ... but pardons and commutals have only been unpopular during this Presidency. Check out the historical record as presented by CNN (along the left menubar), which also includes this forgettable nugget:
Quote:
Plame's name became public when Robert Novak named her in his column on July 14, 2003.

Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage has admitted he disclosed the information to a reporter. Novak pointed to another "senior administration official" -- Bush political adviser Karl Rove -- as the second source for his column.
The real travesty is ... why aren't Novak, Armitage and Rove on trial for treason? Libby was the no-account fall guy for the Administration and he did his job loyally ... took the bad press, got the rap, got his forgiveness (it ain't over til the Pres pardons him completely on his way out of office) and will likely end up with some cushy job with a conservative think tank or as a lobbyist for Halliburton or something. Tough gig.

If Ken Lay wouldn't have died, I would almost say he would have been pardoned on Bush' way out. The question is.. will Skilling get a break now that "Kenny-Boy" is dead?

Rove... well.. Rove should change his name to Rover because he's the president's loyal little dog. If anyone tries to get to the president, Rove nips at their heels like a hyper little Chihuahua. As long as Rove stays a "yes man", the president will protect him.

I'm actually quite surprised that Jack Abramoff went to jail. He'll probably get pardoned too. At the end of the day, I think what we really need is to give the White House an enema. Perhaps a Boston Tea Party reinactment.. Instead of throwing tea into the bay, perhaps we could toss out corrupt politicians including the president that stole his first election, only to start a war to stay in office.

I'm putting my hope in Obama in 08

This needed to be done and everybody knows why. Yeah, I'd even say that if I had a lobotomy and became a democrat.

Huh? Lies and treason should be rewarded with a pardon?

Bush is so crooked he has to get the secret service to screw his pants on every morning.

If it would take a procedure as mind altering as a lobotomy for you to become a Democrat, what excuse do you currently use to explain that you're a Republican?

What is it that is so appealing about being a Democrat? The socialism? The welfare mentality? The wholesale murder of unborn children?

It was just a joke.

I am not an American so I am neither a Democrat, nor a Republican.

Anyway, Clinton pardoned some guy who was much worse than Libby, who fled to Switzerland due to multiple counts of all-sorts-of-stuff-that-I've-forgotten, wait a minute, let me Google it, ah yes, here we go:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Rich

So there's no point thinking this is anything other than politics as usual, whatever party you follow.

The answer is simple - don't vote for any of these guys. They don't deserve your vote.

5th post in and already taking on the admin ...

socialism ... no just want everyone to pay their fair share. No more hookups and tax loopholes for those with the slick accountants.
welfare ... starving people dont lay down and die. You take it away and they are going to get theirs somewhere. Meanwhile compare the figures with corporate welfare and the failure of trickle-down economics.
abortion ... never got the protect the unborn but execute the living thing ?

John ... look into the youtube mod to embed videos. Hours of fun ...

You insane? Rich people use less government services and pay many times more than their share.

How is refusal to work "taking it away"? That entitlement mentality is so far ingrained into your mind that the only cure is going to be rational thought. Think you can try it?

Not insane. And not if you look at it in terms of percentage.

Damn John no need to get upset we are having a discussion. And in 2 sentences you dont know that I am not a rational person so ease up.

Its not a entitlement mentaility. Its thinking two steps ahead of yourself. I am not a 'sympathizer' of the lazy as the stereotype would imply. I just know that people when faced with despiration dont give a s###. If they are hungry they are going to take food before they starve ... from you, me, or anyone that has it. Amplify that mentality X the population on welfare and we all have problems.

Its might not be the clean solution but my point is there is more too it than a bleeding heart.

Why base something on percentage? When you buy a car is the price based on percentage of your income? Or how about a latte at Starbucks? Does Bill Gates pay $70,000 for a latte? Should he? Or is that just insane?

Ok, no insane, but a very obvious way of the poor to take money from the wealthy.

Why would you think I'm upset? When I get upset people get banned. Who got banned?

Your statements indicate that you aren't rational. Especially the "fair share" one.

Most people on welfare are not desperate. Just lazy.
