Well Ash has the big part of his post correct.

Quote:
ex. 95% of the population spends beyong their means at christmas!!! FOR WHAT??? cuz a made up festival???? they feel pressured to spend and shop till they drop
A student of history will understand that the early church adapted the winter solstice holiday into the holiday we now call Christmas. It is exceedingly unlikely that the actual birth occurred at that particular time of year.

And he for sure has defined the average, consumptive, American consumer correctly.

The rest of the post, I will leave to him to defend.

Just stating the facts. Not picking fights or taking sides.

Only the "rich" are in debt. The bottom 50% are basicly NOT in debt, as it pertains to the federal debt. They only foot the bill for about 3% of the budget. The bottom 30% foot none of the bill, or get more back than they had withheld.

Bring on the fair tax, then the argument that all Americans are in debt may have some credibility. Maybe then the half of the country getting a free ride will suddenly start caring about the debt, and all the government spending on "free entitlements".

Common misperception. The Democrats think they can tax the Americans who earn a living and it won't spill over onto the freeloaders. It does, though. Tax the capitalists and they take their capital elsewhere, but not before passing on the cost of the tax to the consumers who thought they could get a free ride.

What are you talking about? What a ridiculous response! What he said was nothing to do with Christianity, how does your response relate to his post at all?
