Another small thing you haven't considered in your shoot the passenger jets down theory is, what type casualties would be caused by the shooting down of a jet over a populated area? Would it be a higher casualty count in this case, or a lower one?

I thought I heard demagogueries in my life time but you are one of not too many who no matter how many people will tell you that the color is white will continue to call it black.
Read documented facts and stop re-writing the History.

You're accusations are baseless, you have no real proof of what was going on behind the scenes. All you have shown me can amount to a persons attempt to reassure a scared country in a time of terror. Is that not a possibility? Or would you just assume to take one side of a story that is backed by appearance and not by any fact? Show me hard cold facts I'll be inclined to see your side.
Give me hard facts, proof that standing orders weren't already in place, written copies of the action plans that were in place that fell short of what needed to be there, give me taped conversation of President Bush saying don't worry about it, we'll deal with it later to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, or Secretary of Defense. All I see you saying is the video and the actions you see aren't actions of panic or get me out of here and lets go to a bunker and figure out what we're going to do behavior.
Who is it that is attempting to rewrite history?

What would you have done? Ran out? There's no need.

A 9/11 Commission Staff Report entitled Improvising a Homeland Defense offers this unique insight into Bush's thinking: "The President felt he should project strength and calm until he could better understand what was happening."

Exactly. If he had stopped reading and left, I personally would hold it against him.
Obviously you believe that presidents should panic every time a terrorist attacks Americans.

Oh well, next time when your house is on fire don’t look for fire extinguisher and instead get yourself cup of coffee, get in your cheer and wait for fire department to rescue you.
Oh BTW, panic - no, take some actions - yes.
Any action. Get up and go to war room to take charge of the situation.
Anything but continue sit on my !ss while people jumping from the windows

I'm not even going to bother with your senselessness any more so go peddle your trash else where you have proven yourself unworthy of recognition.

The president's job is not to take charge of a mop up. His job is to determine the long term direction of the response. He could have stayed in that school for the whole day for all I care.
What precisely did you want him to do? Go to NY and do a photo-op at ground zero?

No, the WTC was on fire, and he wasn't a fireman. The firemen were on the scene.
If you can't name a single thing that he needed to do immediately, then you've lost the debate.
Can you name a single thing?

He was just waiting for orders from Cheney. He's the president, goddamit, not the decision maker. Inactivity was precisely what the situation demanded while the men in charge worked out what to do. Bush is a great American, whatever he does is the perfect response to the situation in hand.

Be careful what you say about Cheney or you'll get shot in the face.

Clinton is so popular for the exact same reason that Mickey D's served billions of burgers.

well, people usually go in for "ANTI" when the policy or action in place doesn't favor them.. Human beings are human beings and humans are full of errors.. we all have ups and downs and the normal thing is to try to get up when one falls. It isn't right to blame or curse someone when he or she falls but rather to encourage that person to get on his or her feet.. The problem comes in when one blindly refuses to get up on his or her feet.
Bush and Clinton are two people despite the fact that they served the same office. Clinton might be enjoying the benefits because he paid heed to advice or maybe he was ready to get up on his feet.

Because Bush's political ideas (if Bush has any ideas) are not great for many people.
Clinton, in the other hand, is much more inteligent.
Very conservative politics all around the world have bad press and bad image. Just look at Sarkozy or Berlusconi to understand what i mean.

That's probably what people would have said if he had ran out of the classroom.
He didn't run.
Seems like a catch 22 if there ever was one.
