you should look into serverbeach, ask one of their sales people about the streaming media to make sure it's allowed

1000GB per month is a huge volume for most ISPs, it is probably a good idea to approach one of the ISPs that are allowed to install servers in the main exchange. The main reason is actually the price, essentially for the volume of traffic it is probably cheaper dealing with the bigger operators.

I'm located in the UK, the only ISP I know is VastNet, they can install servers in Telehouse, the UK MBone. I used to work for VNet and I know that VirginRadio server was located in a Cable Online Exchange.

I don't think Windows is a sensible choice for streaming server, not just because it is unreliable, you are expected to administrate the server remotely, UNIX shell would be the sensible choice.

Last I looked streaming was still not permited at the beach. Although their standard BW allotment of 2TB surly would support it. Another datacenter to look at is www.servermatrix.com. Y0ou should verify with their AUP/TOS but I belive they are fine with streaming.

I was looking at valueweb.com as well for my dedicated server.

Try to do some search, such as "valueweb reviews"
After looking at various reviews and forum threads, magazines gave them high rate while users voted half / half, mixed opinion.

That was enough to make my decision w/ serverbeach, but valueweb site load faster than serverbeach site from my location (Eastern)...so I'm confused again to which one I should go with...hmmm

review of Server Beach:

I've had a server since October 2003

pros:
* inexpensive
* tons of quality bandwidth
* lightening fast reboots (great when you need it)
* they have a clue when it comes to marketing (e.g. they target one niche, and fill it well without getting distracted by other things.)

cons:
* you'd better be completely self-supporting, or you'll end up paying more
* they charge 15 bucks to request additional IPs, and are pretty stingy about giving them.
* they only accept visa or mastercard
* they bill on a 30 day cycle instead of a monthly cycle. Not a big deal, but my money program won't do that automatically.

Overall: 8/10. recommended.

HTH
