Why dedicated web hosting taken by large website? what are the advantages of Dedicated web hosting over the other web hosting services?

Well there are many advantages of dedicated server before the share hosting. Getting a server mean that your are able to use all its resources for your site(s) without need to share it with hundreds of other users on shared account or with tens of others at VPS. Dedicated server is more stable, as its stability depends on your own activity and network stability, while shared servers are more vulnerable in this context.

If the site(s) is (are) really large, say you have tons of Video or other media to be hosted, then it is necessary to have a dedicated server in order to make your site function properly.

If to name certain providers, I know excellent dedicated servers at kodohost, and serverpoint.com, which are highly recommended.

Well, that is a very basic question. A dedicated server itself is dedicated to a client's requirement and is a complete physical hardware when compared to any other hosting package. This mean all the other hosting packages are setup on these physical hardware by various means. They could be virtualization or control panel account setups.

Dedicated Servers are easily flexible where you can add many terrabytes of hard disk space or more than 256GB of RAM which of course depends upon the hardware compatibility.

Dedicated server is the sense of the separation and independence. In any way there is VPS you can go after the shres account. That could be the next step and that is not so expensive

There are a lot of web hosting services being offered. Different companies can come with ddifferent approach.
Like BODHost.co.uk can offer you mostly managed solutions/ That would be really comfortable for you.
But for the other side you can have unmanaged one with proaxxs.net which can be found more cheaper.
In the both you can do the additional search and find out all discounts for that

That is related to the suze of the hosted stuff. If you need to host small account you do not need dedicated server even if you feel you can afford dedicated server.

most companies who offer shared hosting do not allow client access to the server's root directory. if your site uses software that requires this you'd need a dedicated server (or virtual private server = VPS)

there are actually a few shared hosting companies that will review/install a custom .dll for clients (for instance), but they are few and far between.

It's never advisable to provide shared hosting accounts with complete access to the root directory. This may be a serious interference with the server security.

It's always better to go for a VPS or a dedicated server if you need complete access over your server.

Dedicated servers are needded only if your applications are resources intensive or your website is gettings lots of traffic. Dediicated servers are full single servers sitting in the datacenter and you can use everybit of that server for your use. You can use total bandwidth, total resources, all space everything. you donot have to ask anything from any body.

Its basically with the level of control and independence.
