I recently had the desire to run a Zina server. I got the sokkit PHP/Apache pack installed, got Zina working. Worked fine on my localhost or in my LAN but i couldnt access it from the net. I forwarded port 80 to the host computer on my router. When i type in http://myip in Mozilla i get "This page is under constrution" Do i need anything special like..... a DNS server? (see webhosting noob)

Do i need a domain name too?

Im really confused on why its not working. If anyones needs more info just ask. Thanks.

Well if your typing in your IP then he page your getting should be comming from within your network someplace. If you have port forwarding of port 80 to your webserver then the page your getting must be comming from there. I take it you have not made a page that says the above? Im not fimular with Zina but that might be the default page that is in the default webspace.

you dont need DNS unless you have a domain and you dont need a domain unless you dont want to have to give out your IP to everyone. Most people can remember http://www.mydomain.com vs http://123.254.54.35 as an example.

If you PM me your IP ill take a look at the page your getting and see if I have any suggestions.

I get what you get with your local IP when i browse with your real IP.

Seems like its setup properly from the outside world.
