Buying a server..

Hi, not entirely sure if this is the right place for this thread...anyway.

I'm looking to buy a server (Obviously), for hosting websites, with an eye to exchanging space on the server for money.

Basically:

What would you suggest for such a server? (I had a glance at IBM's BladeServers, merely because they advertise them)
What connection type would I need? (And possible cost of said connection/installation)
What sort of income should I be expecting (If any)?

Is this a viable plan?

Thanks,

Shadowhawk.

well would u be actually purchasing the servers or just leasing them?

either way, the type of server might not matter, but IBM and dell sell the bladeservers
also good are the HP,compaq, and pretty much every n ame brand since thats where they make there money

connection: really depends, what u purchase doesnt really matter , since u can upgrade, more then the quality of the bandwidth and the burstable u can get. 100mbit burst should be the least, if not more.

income: varies, more depends on what u charge, your profit margin, customer count, with steady growth you can make a web hosting company a steady income oh high xx,xxx to even xxx,xxx .

web hosting is a very packed industry and will remain so, but with the right niche you can become profitable, you just need the correct knowledge and staff for growth
