There are many good providers who offer dedicated servers with managed services in that price range, and there's usually promos available for special pricing, (check the marketplace section of this forum).

I'm sure yoiu can check such companies like hostgator, happy-hosting, theplanet etc.
Do not waste your time for one person companies at all.

It really depends on your requirements, can you please state your expectations for a budget that is under $200?

There are actually plenty of webhost our there that is ready to sell you their services with $200 monthly but all are still restricted to your requirement.

What are you looking at actually? The server specification would not be a big problem, therefore the only problem would only lies on the bandwidth and data transfer.

For the certain service provider to have quality dedicated servers from I may recommend you to look up hostzealot.com, Recently read the review about them on WHT and have become interested myself. Looks like a stable company with multiple servers around the world. Just FYI.

OK. I own a webhosting company, and I also sell dedicated servers...

My honest opinion, and what I always recomend is to buy directly from a datacenter. You will avoid many problems. Besides youre buying directly from the source. Then hire a server admin ( there are many companies that for less than $30 a month can manageyour server)

I can't stress this enough, I've never been fond of resellers either, I had a bad experience with one.

I recommend iWeb, I'm a client (and a fan) of theirs, and with your budget, you can get as good as a 10TB bandwidth and 2TB disk space for a server, the extra costs of the cPanel license and having it managed however are a different matter, so if you're requirements are lower or can go a tad bit up, then you might want to check out their website.

You should have no problem finding a dedicated server for under $200 per month. I don't think you will find a managed solution on that budget, but most providers should be able to put together a decent server for you.

Softlayer is not bad; best bang for the buck with double ram and disk space.

Hostgator? Their shared and reseller hosting packages rock! I am very sure they have dedicated servers for less than $200 PM.

Dedicated servers are always hard to buy,
I've been there.

Luckily I co-locate now, in just 2 datacentres worldwide.
With the deals I've got it makes managing 20's boxes so easy.

When I first started out though, I went through some really bad times with providers, simply be aware of resellers of burstNET solutions.

There are many trustworthy companies in the Internet, I mean aspnix, hostgator, etc. which provide quality dedicated servers which are able to satisfy the needs of any discriminating web master.
All depends on the budget of the IT user.

im currently using steadfast.net and love them. best i've been with so far.. but with the budget of under $200 you may have a hard time getting in there. i've also been with arvixe.com on their dedicated servers and they provide 2nd to none service. im sure you could get a bare bones server partly managed at arvixe for under 200/month. i would suggest giving them a visit and check out their online support for more information
