Managed dedicated server.

Hi,
I'm new here and really don't have a lot of knowlege about servers.
I have at the moment a proffesional account at Brinkster.com on a windows shared server and I use Asp technology for my webpages.

I'm considering to rent a dedicated server but i don't have any idea how to manage it. do you guy recomend to try and manage it by myself or just get a managed plane somewere, i mean how hard is it to manage it and how much time will it take from me if i don't know a lot from the begining?

managing a server can bring you headache, if you are not familiar with it. You will need to take care of it everyday, update software, security holes, investigate the log files...

If you really need a dedicated server, you should go with managed one

What is the defference between 1 IP address and 5 IP addresses?
I'm interested to rent a server that will host only my websites (not resells), my websites are a few forums and a few online shops. i use SSL pages for my sites and the thechnology i use is asp (windows server).

Do i need more then one IP address or not?
