Dedicated Server Question?

Hello v7n,

I have a question for dedicated servers? This is probably for the bigger server providers.

But, I was wondering where is the cheapest place to buy a good server rack. I hope to expand my servers, but can't find no $100.00 server rack...Can you guys help?

If you want unmanaged dedicated server, you can find it with very less than this price. For example server4you.com is one of them. But usually fully managed servers are more than something like $120 per month.

Yes, this really depends on your needs. Are you looking for a fully-/semi-managed dedi or an unmanaged one? Prices between these 3 sorts vary heavily. And the dedicated server in your sig is quite expensive with $500, even for a fully managed one

This really depends on what you need. You won't get a fully managed server at this price, so if you give us a few more details we might be able to point you in the right direction.

well depends where your at but i know in the twin cities in minnesota i can pick them up of craigslist for 50 - 75 dollars for 2 post steel racks.

He says racks not servers. I am guessing he has his own cage or floor space and needs a rack.

It depends on what is your geographical preferences. Then also depends upon whether you want fully Managed or unmanaged services.

$100 will only get you an atom or p4 server your looking at $150 for a duo core and $200+ for a quad core server

There are some companies that have discount servers at $69/mo. Usually it's single core chips, but sometimes you can get a pretty good one for that price. They are all just bare servers with OS, and nothing else.

Please specify exactly what you are looking for? Do you have servers and just looking for somewhere to Colo them? Or, do you need a rack for of servers? If you are looking to Colo a full rack's worth of servers, $100 per month is not realistic.

I have a question for the OP.

You originally said "server rack".. I took that to mean you are looking for rack space, not servers? Were you looking for a full rack at $100 as your post seems to indicate? I think if that is what you were looking for its probably unlikely you'll find even raw rack space (no power, no bandwidth, etc) at that price.

Could you please clarify what it is you are looking for? Thanks.
