Going to buy a dedicated server...

Hi guys,
I am going to buy a dedicated server from http://www.aplus.net
Do you have any comments about this company?
IMO, it's quite expensive but my friends recommend it ...

I can't recall hearing too much good about Aplus.net.... Seem to recall them being bad.

I have used a few dedicated Windows 2003 servers from Server Beach for the last year. No problems so far and good to excellent uptime.

I'll second that. I love ServerBeach - they've been great to me.

I`ve hosted at EV1, ThePlanet, ServerMatrix (diff. datacenter as my TP server, but same 'parent' company.) and ServerBeach.

I solely use ThePlanet and ServerMatrix now for my servers.

When I used ServerBeach they offered no phone support I`m not sure if they do now or not but this was not acceptable for me. I`ve had to call ThePlanet on Christmas of 2004 to get a reboot taken care of ASAP, I`ve called TP from my houseboat on the middle of the lake to check-up on my servers. I also have used ThePlanet's Control Panel from the Caribean on a cruise ship. All of these things were NOT possible with ServerBeach.

They replied to e-mails within 5 hours most of the time for me but needing things checked out NOW 5 hours was to slow.

When you rely on your servers to keep your money making sites online 5 hours, 3 hours, eevn 1 hour is to long to wait.

I`ve had no problems with ThePlanet custom service, and when I did call on Christmas in 2004 they had to swap out some ram for me and I was up and running again in less than an hour.

I have few servers from TP/SM and just ordered 6 servers from LayeredTech.

So far so good. TP/SM, LayeredTech and Dedicated Now are quite good

I like ServerMatrix as well. Probably spent more money there than any place else, but ServerBeach has been great too. I like the Rapid Reboot, and love the support.

I believe when I was with them Rapid Reboot was in the works.

Glad they have better support now!
