Problem configure MailEnable to use with Outlook Express

Hi guys,

I'm trying to set up mailenable on my server as an email server.

The mail client that I'm using is Outlook Express.

It prompts me for username and password when every time I start Outlook. Why? I didn't set up password in MailEnable.

Then if I click on Send/Receive button in outlook. It gives me an error saying "There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'mail.mydomain.com', Server: 'mail.mydomain.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Unable to log on', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92"

I ran analyistical utility in MailEnable. I found two failed test
1. Local Mail Domain Resolution Test (nyc-discusfanatics.com)
Error: Could not resolve your Local Domain Name in DNS. You should change the local domain name to a domain name that is registered in DNS. This setting is found in the MMC under the properties of the SMTP Connector.

I don't understand this error since my registered domain name is nyc-discusfanatics.com and it is my local mail domain name.

2.Could not resolve DNS. (1460)
The DNS settings used by the SMTP Connector have caused tests to 'Fail'. Some diagnostic tests have been skipped. Please review your configuration and re-run this utility

I also tried this in DOS such as
telnet mail.nyc-discusfanatics.com
It went through without a problem.
It gives me a welcome message..

What is going on? Please help.
I'm using Windows 2003 and it is a fresh installation. I haven't installed IIS yet.

Mail Enable

I'm trying to install this MailEnable program right now myself, and I'm wondering if I want to go through with it. Anyone else here used this program with Coldfusion? Are there better mail server programs to use that are less expensive also? One thing that I don't like is that I have a dynamic ip address here at home on my development machine and setting this up with a domain name does not look easy.

I'd still love to hear from any developers who might know of another mail server program that is easier to use. Expense is no longer an issue and I'd love to know of all the options out there.

A LOT of software nowdays requires username@domain.com for username when logging into the mail server... that could be the root of the login problem.
