DDoS attacks, help!

I use Aplus as my webhost. My site has been the subject of DDoS attacks, probably from banned users. I have been dealing with site crashes regularly and gotten little help from Aplus.

What can I do to protect my site from these attacks?

GigeServer.com specialize in DDOS protected dedicated servers & they seem to have a good rep @ webhostingtalk.com. But there not cheap...

I would think that a competent dedicated host could filter / mitigate DDoS attacks.

Using Aplus now and i guess they aren't competent. Care to recommend one? Anyone got a dedicated host they are happy with?

Just track the person who is DDossing you and send send them http://sub7.net, Basically trash them up bad. Even when you ddoss the packets are still being sent from there ip, get it and send them the server file. then you will have full access to there computer and totally make there life hell. You can reboot there computer disable there keyboard have a private chat with them. anything you name it even reformat there hardrive lol. Well, just read the stuff there of course after you get there ip Good luck!

If you haven't already got a firewall setup that's something that could improve things a little. APF is free and pretty good. If you're only being attacked by a few IPs then blocking them could be a big help, although obviously if it's a more significant than that this wouldn't help much if at all.
