The second option is of course “better” because each processor is “dual core” meaning the operating system will see 4 processors. However, if you do not need the intense processing power of 4 processors, then it becomes a matter of “over kill”.



The thing to remember is that a server can be upgraded to dual core processors with minimal down time. My suggestion is to start with the single core 246, and if you find you need dual core processors, upgrade.
