Everyone is saying dedicated, but no one is explaining why. My knowledge about hosting is limited, I am more hardware knowledgable, but let me try to shed some light on this.
The reason why I would say dedicated is for the simple fact of resources. Videos take up a lot of resources, and bandwidth, and with a dedicated server, all of the resources are yours to use. With a VPS you have to share your CPU, and ports, and with everyone rooting into the server, your data transfer will be slow.
Feel free to add more anyone.

Dedicated, for the reasons outlined by ServerMan. Because it's your 'own' server, you will also be able to more easily modify it to your liking, it's easier to move a whole server to an expanded environment (more bandwidth, etc.) and you should have fewer programming/security surprises down the road.
You should be able to find a 'managed' dedicated server solution, if you're at all nervous about keeping up with security patches and whatnot.
On the downside of an unmanaged dedicated server, the level of support you receive will be far lower than in a managed solution, so ... you break it, you bought it ... they'll reboot it. On the upside, you can maintain relative privacy and full awareness of what's going on with your box.

If you're quite enough experienced person you'd better to have an unmanaged dedicated hosting. Having it you can do whatever you want on your server and control every process. But if you don't have much experience in it you'd better to have a managed dedicated hosting because the support will help you to solve some issues if they appear.

I'd suggest starting off with a VPS and then moving to a dedicated server once your site gets popular enough that it exceeds the limitations of a VPS. By doing this, you'll be spending the minimum on hosting bills while using the most of your money.

I don't know how much y'all are paying for dedicated, but there are reliable companies out there that will charge less than US$60 per month. Heck, I spend more than that on beer each month!

I say it depends. I manage a video sharing site on a VPS just fine.
