cheap SSL cert

Can anybody recommend someplace for cheap SSL certs?

Got a friend looking and not willing to pay out the $100+.

Have they considered sharing a SSL with a host? Some hosting companies will do that(modwest) but I am not sure on the fee.

I like that Geotrust "QuickSSL" cert for $159. A respected name and a good price.

Although Comodo does not own its own root, it uses the Baltimore Root.
It is a bit more compatible than GeoTrust's browswer. GeoTrust
doesn't support IE version IE 5.0 or earlier. Only Thawte or Verisign
supports those.

different browser and versions support it. It will support
the IE 5.0 version, and Opera Web Browsers, but will
not support anything earlier than 5.0, just like GeoTrust.

GoDaddy offer TurboSSL Certificates for $19.99/yr with additional discounts for multi-year purchases.

I have used Comodo from InstantSSL with great satisfaction for me and for clients. Never been an issue.

You can get a 3 year for $139 (instantssl).

Last cert I got 2 years ago was cheaper than this. Looks like their prices went up but still are reasonable.
