Hey John.

I am not really sure. But i asked couple of my friends. One of them knows about RackForce. He said he has heard of them that it's a pretty reliable company but doesn't really have any personal experience.

Thanks,
John

RackForce :

Quote:
Level 4: A multi-homed, full-duplex 100Mbps shared access port is included FREE with each dedicated server sold by RackForce. It is a perfect entry point for most hosting resellers and companies offering dedicated e-commerce, e-mail, database and dns solutions. This level of shared connectivity is perfect for the typical hosting reseller with as many as 500 domains on a single server. Please Note: RackForce does enforce some quality of service (QoS) routing on this shared bandwidth model to ensure more consistent performance for all users. (i.e. A client will not be able to monopolize bandwidth at the expense of his neighbors.)
The above is a quote from their website on bandwidth. Contrary to the standard way other datacenters package their servers rackforce starts out with a unmetered connection. The description says "100Mbps SHARED" so that implys its not on a switched network but more of a managed hub network. The speed of your connection somewhat depends on what else is going on within that 100Mbps shared network segment.

Whats also confusing is that if you upgrade to the next level you get

Quote:
Level 3: For more demanding applications RackForce offers a multi-homed, full-duplex 10Mbps dedicated access port for a small monthly fee. This dedicated level of connectivity provides for greater and more consistent throughput then a Level 4 connection even though the connection is rate limited to 10Mbps.
So they even say that you get a more consistant thruput at 10Mbps dedicated than 100Mbps shared still its unmeaterd.

This upgrade seems kind of steep at $175/mo additional.

The next level is where it really gets confusing as you buy a

Quote:
Level 2: For enterprise and other high demand, high performance sites, Rackforce can provide a multi-homed, full-duplex 100Mbps dedicated access port.
Yet unlike the first two levels you purchase this bandwidth in 'bank' allotments of
Quote:
50, 100, 250 and 500 GB and more of bandwidth are available at discounted rates.
Making a dedicated 100Mbps port at 500GB bank allotment a very steep $895/mo.

On the postive note they do provide a monthly backup service and a monthly monitored firewall service but each are additional cost.

Wow! If you're going to drop that much ($895) on a server, you're better off going to RackSpace.

I did a quick search of Rackspace's AUP and I did not find any references to 'adult' or 'mature' so i would have to say you might need to contact their sales staff for a definate but its not explicily stated in teh AUP that they dont allow it.

The only reference I could find was to Child Pornography and I cant think of any self respecting host that would allow such filth.

Unless they've recently done some changes...yes they do.
