VPS to Decicated Server move

Hello all. Our comany has finally decided that we have had our fill with our VPS server and plan on making a switch to a dedicated one. Verio, the comany we are currently with on a VPS, offers dedicated servers however they are quite expensive ($600/month). Granted they have the best tech support that I have ever talked to so part of that cost is paying for their tech service.

I was wondering what companies y'all use for dedicated server hosting. Our site is pretty large and we chew up a lot of bandwidth each month so we need a pretty good size host.

Thanks!

V7N's recommended dedicated server is ServerBeach: http://www.v7n.com/hosting-dedicated-web-hosting.php

I'd also check out Hostgator and Hostican

$600 for a managed server is too much I feel so. Even if you use a lot bandwidth I feel you need to make search again, there are many other companies out there and I am very sure you will save lot of $$ even for a fully managed server ,monitored 24/7 with weekly proactive and stuff and a great technical support with good response time.

Quality technical support can be worth paying extra if you are not familiar with running a dedicated server (though for $600 / month they would want to be supplying you free breakfast as well).

I believe one difference between dedicated and VPS for an unmanaged situation is that you will usually have console access on a VPS whereas a dedicated server will cost a bit more for console access as it requires additional hardware.

Cost is irrelevant if we're not discussing server specs. - what hardware specification (plus resources - transfer/bandwidth etc.) do you think that you need?

$600 is a fairly expensive dedicated server (particularly unmanaged), but it may still be a sensible amount if the hardware is high-spec. and/or with a lot of transfer etc.

iHubNet-Matt is on the right pathiHubNet-Matt is on the right path
With this much budget, you can go for a fully managed server and sit back and watch the server performing well.

For $600/month I would go with RackSpace hands down best managed server company out there.

For VPS check:
myriadnetwork.com
eurovps.com
for dedicated servers:
ahosting.biz
valuhost.com
I think that you will be able to find good deal across these companies.
