Internet hosting report

There are tons of hosting directory sites, and hosting revew sites, etc. We don't need another one of those.

So, I'm thinking honest reports, with stats. Like, it should list the connection speeds... and what else?

Maybe if it's possible to measure...

Average amount of time it takes a support official to respond to a question.

Number of domains hosted per server.

and

If the host is a reseller, owns a data center, or rents servers.
A general location of where the hosts servers are.
If the host is a one man show.
If the host is owned and operated solely by someone still in school.

There's not much that falls under "report" other than connection speed and uptime. So I'm not quite sure what else you're looking for. If you go into any more detail other than those, you're getting into a "reivew".

I would say no to the first and yes to the 2nd.

Are they behind on giving you your referral fees?

I finally figured out how their referral system worked: (for anyone who doesn't understand)
Customer orders a server on September 3rd (first months bill pre-paid).
October 3rd is second months billing..
November 3rd it shows up in your referral status (as they get billed for their 3rd month).
So even though it shows up on November 3rd, if you're billing cycle ends on November 28th, you can't redeem it until then.

Well, I kinda what it to be a useful thing for people looking for hosting...

The only thing that I can picture is that, the IHR page would be like a gate for each provider. Meaning, you give a little detail about the provider, their network, their hardware (stats, uptime, speed, etc) and provide the URL. If you go into anything further, it becomes a review. There's not a lot of things you can put up for "reports".

You're possibly taking on far too much with the idea for the project - the hosting industry is simply so huge and dynamic.
