Will Pay for Help

Can anyone recommend a person to do as-needed fixes on my GoDaddy Virtual Dedicated (Redhat Linux - Plesk) or can anyone recommend another hosting service / solution that provides as-needed paid tech service? If you want to recommend yourself, you have my permission to email or PM me to avoid the self-promotion ban.

About once per year, I have a problem with my GoDaddy virtual dedicated server (RedHat Linux - Plesk) that is complicated enough that I just want to pay someone $150 to make the problem go away. GoDaddy now only provides paid help if you pay them $150 per month for some overrated backup service, and paying $150 per month gives you the privilege of being able to pay their techs for specific problem related service. I only have 11 domains with all basic html websites on the VDed. Paying $150 per month for the privilege of paying even more for service when I need it seems a little odd.

Right now, my VDed seems to be generating unwanted emails that go over GoDaddy's 1000 daily SMTP limit. I think I plugged the usual gaps (bounce backs and password authenticated relaying) but the VDed seems like it is still making unwanted e-mails. Analyzing the problem will require me to learn more Linux than I care to. The last time I had a technical problem, the GoDaddy VDed mysteriously erased the Apache error log, causing all websites to stop showing. After much cajoling and begging, repeated midnight calls etc., a GoDaddy tech finally identified the problem and replaced the log. Once they really started working on it, it only took them about 20 minutes to fix, but begging and persuading them to let me pay for help took days.

I'm thinking of my VDed like a car. I know how to drive and how to change the oil. I need a mechanic or a dealer with a garage. Any mechanics or recommendations for dealers with garage's out there? Or would you recommend an entirely different hosting solution since I can't program in Linux?

Gary could you please share you specification you have on Godddy for $150 (that is good enough budget for dedicated server).

Do google search for that and before signing up just discuss this issue with your potential web host.

You can get a freelancer to help you from elance, rentacoder , guru.com, scriptlance or any such sites.

Ideally, I guess you need a managed VPS/dedicated server. Checkout Liquidweb. Godaddy is unmanaged and not recommended for a non technical person.

Thanks ZunuZunu. After much consternation in August, I finally found a $30 fix for the problem. Essentially, I fixed the problem by bypassing it with some basic DNS changes. I plan to PM you the next time I have a problem with the server to see if you are available for hire.
