T-shirt Contest $300
Hi members of V7N.
I understand how it might look with this being my first post, but I was referred here by a good friend who is also a member here at V7N.
I hope this contest is taken seriously as I really don't know where else to go to get good quality work, GDF contests never attract talented artists for any prize less that $1000 which is out of our budget range.
This contest is for a T-shirt Design. It's for a small local organization that is against the hunting of Kangaroos in Australia, which has increased over the years. We don't want anything with text, we just want some artwork on a T-shirt. Maybe a Kangaroo or some clever design that incorporates a Kangaroo into it. We want people to see these t-shirts and feel for the animal. We want people that buy these t-shirts to feel like they're helping, and by wearing it others know they care.
This contest is exclusive to V7N, however we reserve the right to use or discard the winning entry, and we may award the prize to more than one winner if we feel there are 2 amazing designs.
Specifications: - Obviously browns, the final copy should be presented to us in PNG and as PSD files, at no less than 300dpi, it should be print quality, and fill no more than half of the t-shirt.
- Please use no more than 4colors.
- 5 days from now but we may at any time select a winner if we fall in love with a design
- Prize: $300
- Payment payable by Bank Wire/Paypal or Western Union if we must.
Best of luck to all those participating!

Also, please feel free to ask as many questions as you would like in order to create the perfect design, I'm dedicating these next few days to making sure all questions regarind the design are answered right away. Feel free to submit more than one entry.
Thanks again and good luck.

What do you think of something along these lines?
Concept: As we know, Kangaroos have pouches, protective pouches for the lil ones when they're still young. Hunters (after some research) hunt the kangaroo for it's skin mostly and they tend to target adult kangas not young ones. Leaving many baby kangaroos to fend for their own and as you can tell, not many survive.
Wearing this tshirt could give the message of adoption as in, I'm supporting the protection of these animals. As if we're caring it in our own little pouch instead of the mother. Make sense?
Design/Colors can be adjusted to your liking later on. Great cause this is by the way, more people should enter this contest I think.

That's a fantastic design - and such a cute concept, too!
I had considered entering this contest....but yikes! I just couldn't follow that!
If it was up to me, I would have already declared moni's design the winner.

Nice work dude
I like the way you have kept the colours down to 3 as this will definately offer a saving when it comes down to the guy getting them printed as less plates needed for colours
Great concept also.

Oh wow I'm speechless. Thank you so much Domestic Diva for that compliment but please I'd hate for people to be discouraged by my entry.
I don't want to be the reason this contest does not see as much exposure as it should, because it's for a good cause, please submit you work guys so the contest starter can choose what they believe works well for them.
Please guys, it's a fun contest, let's have fun and all take a whack at it

Thank you so much G10. I have designed so many t-shirts before and have since learned that a 4 color design and a 3 color design makes a huge difference in production costs, I suppose as a designer it's my obligation to take that into consideration. Thanks again for the compliment.

You're welcome. Seriously, I think your design could very well be what they're looking for! But, you're right, that shouldn't discourage the rest of us. I'll give it a go a bit later today. Even if my design isn't what they want, it's not a loss - I can always use the Photoshop exercise.
@ Licky: Really nice work!!

I like Moni's design too, especially the sad eyes, but out of interest from a real dodo, aren't there 5 colours being used?

No there aren't as there are variations of brown. Moni's design could actually be cut down to even one colour using many variations of the same brown and thus cutting the cost right down also if required.

Thank you all for the compliments, Domestic Diva, looking forward to your entry very much. Lick, great entries, I love the second one and I’m sure if selected you could sharpen up the lines a little so it’s more pronounced, beautiful concept though.
StrongInTheArm you would be correct to notice by looking that there are more than 3 colors, not 5 but 6 actually, in addition to the background. However for your information, in the Print industry, variations of one color (seems like several to you) is considered one color only. I could even pull this off with 1 color as it’s a very versatile design and tweak the shading of that brown. Thanks for taking interest and for your feedback.

Thank you G10 for clarifying that, by your signature link I can see why you are knowledgeable in print and such. Thanks again very much.
