Shovel Design Contest - $25 USD

Five jpegs of matching shovels. Contest ends 9/19/14 12 noon EST.
$25 USD to the winner via Paypal.

My daughter has a charity and they are making some website changes. They will be offering Missions Trips for people to join. The mission trips will be of varying difficulty.

Her design needs: 5 jpegs. Each jpeg will have shovels in it. Shovels should appear to be working, maybe angled as if they are going into the ground, etc.

Each image will have the outlines of 5 shovels, but each image will have one or more shovel outlines filled in. So 1 shovel filled in will depict a difficulty level of 1, 2 shovels filled in will depict a difficulty level of 2, and so on.

A difficulty level of 5 will have all 5 shovels filled in. So the number of shovels "filled in" in each image will show the applicant the difficulty of the Missions Trip that they are thinking of joining.

The 5 images will be different by the number of shovels "filled in" and the number of shovels remaining in "outline" form.

She does not have a color in mind, use your imagination. For an idea of how other parts of the website is designed, see: http://www.2secondsorless.org/

I hope I explained the design request well enough, please ask any questions. I will try to answer promptly. Thanks, Robert

What about image size, e.g. height and width of the images? And if needed, DPI?

Thanks J. H.

I think 200px x 62px would be large enough. I can help her resize to smaller as needed.

DPI, no clue. I'm a novice with Graphics. If it matters, they are probably mostly for web use. But it's possible it could also be used on printed handouts. Hope that helps.

The lower image is close. The angle is good. Better if the whole shovel is seen in the image. If it helps, the image can be higher than 62px.

In a 5 shovel (difficulty level 5 for her website) all 5 shovels would be colored in like your example.
In a Difficulty Level 4 Image, 4 shovels would be colored in and one shovel would be in outline only.

And so on, down to Difficulty Level 1. On that image, One shovel colored in and 4 shovels in outline only.

5 images needed. Level 1 Difficulty thru Level 5 Difficulty. Thanks

My daughter just chimed in, she wondered if you could make it show less detail, maybe harder edges? Do you have any other shovel ideas you could submit?

That looks good. If you could also include the bottom of the shovels, that would be great. I would also prefer that you omit the shadow in the image for simplicity. The filled-in shovels should also be shown on the left side of the image to show a scale of 1 of 5, 2 of 5, 3 of 5, etc.

To confirm, this is a png with a transparent background, correct?

Looks great! Are you able to take the shadows behind the shovels out? Thanks.
