Za7 Directory Design Contest $100

Hiya,

I am looking for a great layout for my Za7 Directory and Blog! I currently have free templates on my directory and blog. I want to have an Unique layout that is attractive and professional. This is what I am starting with, and the blog is wordpress.

I want it to be/ have:
1- Unique- I want to own this design and I want it to stand out from other Directories.
2- Clean and easy to navigate- buttons for navigation across the top.
3- 2-3 colors- I like greens like this and Starbucks greens . Blues, Reds, and other main colors are highly desirable, please work your magic with the colors.
4-Simple Background with enough blank space like here and here. A background color that is anything but plain white. The Starbucks textured background is delicious, it makes me want a hot mocha in front of the fireplace. If you could just make a delicious background/ page that makes people want to submit to the directory, even better.
5- A Directory listing structure similar to v7n and Romow. I really like the Romow layout, clean, easy to read, nice text size. Fixed width. Something along these lines would be great.
6- A Clean Header with enough space to put a logo, something between this and this.

Hey, that's a great start. I like it so far.

Do you have any ideas about where to add another color? I am interested in possibly 2-3 colors. What do you think?

I like the navigation buttons, I am wondering about other locations for them too. I am thinking what could go on the right side of the page next to the categories.

Adam, on your blog, are you interested in having a third column for advertising, or you want it just in two columns like it is now?

Thanks for the entry. Let me clarify that I am looking for a layout that the directory and blog can share. I like the blog layout very much. I would also like to see how it might be applied to the directory layout as well. A photoshop layout showing your ideas for the directory would be fine. Would you be interested in showing that too?

I like what you have for the blog:
The fixed width, nice size header, and 2 columns. The footer looks sweet and the right sidebar is very clean. A very nice entry that I can customize.

To answer your question, I am not looking for extra space for advertising.

Is this layout an unique one that you designed yourself?

yeap. the design is unique as far as I know because I designed it. I wanted to use it for my blog, but I'm not sure if I'll ever start a new blog...this is the only reason I'm giving it away.

As for your directory, if you like this colors, I can post here the complete palette I used for the blog so if anyone wants to start on the directory theme, he can use the palette I'll provide so the blog and the directory would eventually share the same layout.

What script are you using for your directory?
