$25 or more for the logo i choose,

The link works... but can I ask why you don't like the Web2.0 style? Do you just not like the whole "rounded corners, shadows, glossy look, etc" kind of thing? I would have thought most people would want their logo to look as up to date as possible.

I'll work on something and post it, but I doubt I will win

I just checked with vBulletin and the use of their trademark in this manner is illegal.

You can't use the name in anything. So you might want to change the design haimadan, and Wallace I wouldn't advise paying for something illegal.
