Type of Contest : Logo Design Contest for my business “Vacation-Daytona”

I own and rent oceanfront condos – so I am selling sun – fun – beach – ocean – sand etc..
My old logo is about midpage right on [url removed]
Need update.

Prize :$100 via Paypal
Contest End Date & Time : Aug 3rd 6PM CST
Size Requirements : None – 100ish x 250ish –is there a standard size??
( I am not a graphic artist…not sure what size is standard..)
Color Requirements : Colors I Prefer:: Blues - Yellows – Oranges but do not want to limit your creative freedom
Format Requirements : ..psd (Photoshop files) and/or jpg (with and without text please)
Designs:: Prefer Sunrise scene, also interested in a small 4 square collage (2x2) that works together and captures a fun image.

Ok heres my first entry.
Not final, there can be more, just a test to see if im on the right path.

The lettering is too "grundge" I would be hoping more for a calming look.
Also the image is not reminiscent of a warm happy sunny day -- color wise the sky looks icy... but I do like the sunrise amongst the waves look.

This will depend on the final use of the image. If it's for the web then I wouldn't go any smaller than 500x500 at least this way you only have to size down. If you get something too small, you'll never be able to size it up and that will be restricting.

Also, if you plan on using it for print, say, for cards, brochures, t-shirts etc... You don't want anything less than say 2000x2000, at least 300dpi and in CMYK. You can convert this large format to a web standard however you will never get that web format to a print standard.

So, as I said.. If you just want something small for the web, then that's all you get but if you want room to breath, get something bigger. If you want something for the web and for print, design for print because it's gota be much much bigger and you will always be able to size and convert down, just not up.

I know all about the format restrictions, but thanks for the heads up, for a suitable atribute size of the logo, and pem, i get what you after know, the second try will be of much more improvement.

IMO, logos should be created as vector so they can easily be enlarged for whatever -
