No to all of the above.

The item is made of stainless steel but that isn't relevant to what it is or what it does.

Many of you have never noticed this part but it provides a vital function for something you do.

All of the above are good guesses but not correct; well maybe not the bathtub.

Most times a fridge is involved before this item is used and sometimes after.

Very cold. Warm would be better.

This old guy swung a hammer today in lieu of using the Paslode so one more clue and off to bed I go. Will upload a bigger crop or give better clues in the morning.

The shinny part is a new part installed in an old device. If you use the device regularly you will need a new one of these every couple of years. Not that it is relevant but this picture was taken for an article to be published on the HouseHomeRepair site.

As always in this thread, naming the part, its function or the device will be a winner.

Gee! That is way more than one additional clue. Can you figure out the clues from the distractions?

Sorry, no winner yet. Reviewing all the clues above and adding the statement:

The shinny part is the "engine" that powers the device that is only used outside. The device performs a similar task to tasks that are normally performed inside.

Surely that will produce a winner.
