Here is a Canada Goose.
Notice that the markings in general, and the color of the bill in particular, are quite different.

The guesses I presented were based on the best information available at the time.
Now, as shown above, the markings and bill color is wrong for a Canada Goose.
Given the newly available side view, a likely candidate at first glance is the Greylag goose, although the neck of your bird still appears a bit short for that of a goose. More research needed.
Greylag goose

My beloved "Colonel"
We enjoyed a 15 year relationship of which 8 years was as my working partner in Law Enforcement. Trained scent detection and personal attack dog, he was one of the best partners you would ever hope to have. He died aged 15 and enjoyed the last 6 years of his life in retirement, as a very much loved family pet.

One of our horses needed oral meds. They came mixed up in some sticky goop, about the consistency of peanut butter. Here's Dena's reaction to "a spoonful of sugar."

Horses are lke kids... The amount thy object to what tyehre fed is in direct proportion to how good it is for the. We're always trying to hide stuff in he feed with a little feed grade mollasses to covr the tste, but they genereally catch us at it.
Hey snooks- didnt realize you had. Law enforcement background. That was a good lookin partner you had there. Nice pic too, looks like a pro portrait.

Sorry Rob....it had been mentioned, just probably when you wernt around or it just slipped by. 1983 - 2003. If i remember rightly the photo was taken at a media day up in the mountains, about 1988.
Dena has no qualms about expressing his feelings for the medicine lol
Ok.... here is the uglier member of the partnership, me, aged around 29.

Last batch of puppies for a Looooong time hopefully. Aside from these I'm down to four dogs now.
These are just shots taken with a phone for Craigslist.
They had no intention of holding still... these livewires were all over the pasture.

As in a blue Halls Heeler, as opposed to a red Halls Heeler?
