Okay here we are. Two pictures, one taken with the Canon and one taken with the Pentax. I just took these like 3 minutes ago.

The second image was taken with the new Canon IXY 700, 7.1MP.

They both look great, but the picture taken with the Canon is awesome. Looks like that is gonna be a good camera for you.

i think we need to differentiate between dslr and fixed lenses

pentax is supreme when it comes to fixed lense cameras

i own the original pentax *st d and let me say its a great camera, but they havent realized that 10mp cam yet, so if i want to go higher i have to switch to canon or nikon which means buying a new set of lenses

in the futr when there ar emore pentax's out ther ehtid wont be an issue but for right now you should consider that

Hey John I know this thread is old and that Canon seems to take good pics but just wanted you to check out Fuji.

My cheapo Fuji here, not a bad camera for the price and I actually take 6 MP shots only it is 3.1 effective.

To this Fuji which may be my next one

Fuji really makes a great variety of cameras and alot of them are quite reasonable.

Oh John also if you are still looking for a better resize/crop program and you have MS Office 2003 you should try out Microsoft Office Picture Manager, I have not found a more simple easy to use program for this.
