Pentax camera division has been sold to Richo. May want to let the dust settle before committing to Pentax. I hope they are going to keep the brands apart and just merge the R&D and maybe distribution but you can never know what the bean counters will want.

Nikon for sure, I used both, I find that it's easier while gives a better performance in same time. Question of how professional we are, and for what to use a camera !

I own both Nikon and Canon Cameras, and from my experience, I prefer the image quality of photos taken with a Nikon, however I prefer the ergonics and button layout of the Canon, so it's a tough choice....

I've used a Nikon D200 for several years now and absolutely love it. It's extremely fast which is perfect for me since I do lots of indoor sports photography. Having a camera that shoots 5 fps in RAW is pretty useful. That being said, if I had the money I would love to upgrade to the Canon 5D Mark II. I'm wondering when another company (Nikon) is going to release a camera to really rival that bad boy.

I have a Nikon D90 with 18-105, 70-300 and Sigma 10-20.
Also have a D70s with Tamron 17-55 2.8
Had digital cameras for +10 years, got some very nice results with my first Olympus 1.3mp camera.. Used a Fuji S9600 to learn more about photography, got more and more interested in it and then bought the D90.
Chose Nikon over Canon as at that time it seemed better price/quality and the available lenses seemed like a better match for my needs. But in the end it doesn't matter much, both brands make good pictures and it's the person behind the camera that makes the biggest difference, not some white letters on the camera :-)

canon 5d is da best..its full frame 12mp sensor, high ISO IQ and the fast primes in it makes it more effective than nikon

Used very few of both kind, but Nikon never again - too much compression of jpg in those I used. My Canons were excellent.
