I prefer Canons, I had Nikon 1000d and not satisfied with it. I think all Canons, especially for photo newbies are more friendly with their interface

16 years ago I began with Minolta, I then moved to Canon, then to Leica then to Nikon when the incredible D300 was released and then when Canon blew the competition away with the 5D Mark II I changed systems again.
At the moment I am truly happy shooting Canon, but with the D800 I would be tempted to switch again.
That would last a month and then the Canon 5D Mark III would be released.
Both systems are amazing. This is an age old debate with no true winner. Both companies lead the way and provide healthy competition for each other.
A little tip; invest your money in your lenses. Nearly all Nikon or Canon DSLRs made today are insanely awesome, but need to be tamed with great glass!

And I must agree on that. And yeah, I think both Nikon and Canon are good and can be a continuous debate year over year.
I myself is more into Nikon guy but I am thinking of trying Canon in the near future. Just saving up a bit of money for a decent body and lenses.

im nikon user too but i don't think canon cameras can't be competitive. on my point of view, it doesn't matter what brand or type of camera you're using because all of these are just tools. what matters most is how we capture. if you're gonna get bad images using your camera phone, i don't think you're gonna get good images too using dslr cameras.

Clearly Nikon for SLR and Canon for pocket point and shoot. Both are great, for professional or indulgent photographers nikon probably is better than canon.

I still prefer the one the consumer group has not discovered, Pentax.

Nikon because I can afford the price of it, and the quality of photos are not that different from canon.

Nikon forever!
The lenses are in superior quality but that's just me.

I use Canon digital camera. I like it, but there are some problems with Canon. I think Canon better than Nikon (this is just my opinion).

Nikon is lighter than Canon. But many photographers choose Canon because of its up-to-date features for pro. While Nikon focuses on marketing more in digicams today.

Have been shooting Canon for around 8 years. The only reason why I picked Canon was because my friends were using Canon and I thought it'd be a good idea to be able to share lenses with each other.
At the end of the day, I've used both Canon and Nikon (and even a Sony and Leica). I'm happy with just any camera in my hand just as long as someone tells me how to adjust the film speed, shutter speed, and aperture.
