Nikon cameras are good... in theory. They handle noise well, take beautiful images, but the handling is not very good, with buttons all over the place, and not-so-co-ordinated setup.

I dont like he way canon have all their scene modes on the top dial, but i preer their cameras, because the handling is easier, and more co-ordinated.

My first camera that got me into Photography was the Canon Rebel XTi. I later got and currently own the Canon 40D. I was a green horn though, and should have bought a few lenses instead. I would love to get my hands on the Canon 5D Mark 3 and a few good lenses!

I don't really know if Canon is better than Nikon, but i have no complaints.

My personal choice is nikon, but what I can say is that it's not in the brand. You and your camera must be compatible with each other no matter what the brand is, in order to make a fine photographer.

I've tried both but have stuck with Canon for quite a few years. I'm too heavily invested to consider a change!

I have Canon 400D 7D 5D and can say they are amazing cameras. I think with Canon you will always have better lens choices Than Nikon. its one of those expensive investments you have to take as it cost a lot to change brand.
I see a lot talking about ease of use of camera, I find canon easy to use, its straight forward and logical.
To be honest you can't go wrong with either but for my money Canon has it just for lens range and price. . oh and I love my 70-200 f2.8 is lens, amazing lens.

Like?

I'd consider this to be a HUGE waste of money since you'd have to not only keep multiple sets of bodies but also multiple sets of lenses per body.

I shoot Nikon becuase I am heavily invested.

However if there was one thing I envy from Canon shooters it is the fact that their Exposure Compensation and Flash Exposure Compensation are completely independent. With Nikon they are connected, so if you lower your EC, then your FEC drops also, so you have to counteract by raising your FEC. It's just silly!

Doesn't come into play when you shoot in manual but why I ask? Why? Keep them independent.

OK, Rant over!!
