Watermark on Pictures

Photography is both profession and fun. Everyone would love share their photography work online; I do same. I am uploading my photography work on Social Media and my website. Since begining I am using Photoshop to put watermark on my pictures. Its' a text watermark (my website url). I am thinking to change this text watermark to my website logo; to put small transparent logo on each of my picture.

What do you suggest? Text watermark or picture watermark?

I also agree that you can put both the logo along with the text. I think the main objective would be to provide an awesome photo with limited distractions as possible. So yes, keep the distraction to a minimum like single color or the halftone (recommended). If I had to choose only one, I would go with text only.

I noticed on Google+ quite a few are doing their watermark as a signature. Something to think about.

You could place both LOGO & TEXT as Watermark in the pics. But I noticed that your Logo is in 3 Colours. Try to convert it into Single Colour or Grey Halftone so that it look good on every type of pic. Wish you the best my friend.
Thanks. I am agree to use single color. I don't want to use same long logo which is on my website but yes probably only Afghanistan small map.

watermark give you your own symbol to any picture and i think it must be used if you using any organization related document or picture. I suggest you to use light water mark and make print it in Green pages than no one can copy it easily.

Explain why?

You should backup your response a little better.

I would recommend a signature watermark set to like 40% opacity

Seeing as he didn't answer. Essentially if you have a logo or text over the top of an image and lower the opacity you can make sure the person can see your work, but also can't steal it. That way if they decide to purchase you can then remove the logo/text and send them the image without the watermark.

This.
On topic: I would choose the text watermark instead of logo. It's just more commonly used by photographers nowadays.

My recommendation
~Image watermark
~Mono Color
~30-40% Opacity
~Good Visibility above the pic

Because putting noisy color logo will just like kiddish paint thing and only text may lag you being pro .

WaterMarkTool.com

I know the only watermark option is watermarktool.com which free. But with limited size capability. You can watermark multiple images at a time.

Text watermark would be better and you can design a text logo for your page to add it on photos as it takes less size than picture watermark

watermark your pictures with a logo and your website because if your photos are copied or used somewhere you will still get credit for your work.

At my job I use company watermark logo. Use watermark wherever you post your work. At least you can have control over it in the web.
