help
well, I finally did it. I took a ton of shots on my digital (a friend's birthday party), thought I downloaded them and now...they are not on my hard drive and the flashcard is empty.
is there a way to retrieve the data off of a flashcard? I always shoot my friend's kids bdays and I'm absolutely crushed that I managed to do this....

There are plenty of software titles that do it but I dunno of any free ones.
Make sure you don;t use the card until you try to restore its deleted contents.
oops, just found one:

I didn't realize the same one for hard drives would work for other media. I've had to use that one a hard drive once, it's horribly stressful! Thanks I'll give it a try and hope for the best.

hey, littlefella
I wanted to say thanks again. I had to purchase the 'pro' version to be able to save everything but I got about 75-85% of my pics back. YEA!

yes, I was very happy. Only bad thing is the one picture my friend reaaaaly wanted, which was a group of the entire party, ended up being unretrievable - and she'll probably never trust me to take pics again. We've been friends for a while, so hopefully, she'll forgive me.

Glad your story has a happy ending...
I accidentally lost the backup with all my original website illustrator & PS files a couple of years ago, I recovered less than a quarter of the files... it was painful indeed. And there were no kids pictures involved that time, I can only imagine what a roller coaster this has been.
