Anyone going out shooting for the holidays?

I want to try and capture so many things this New Years, I'm a little nervous because most things happen at night (horrible conditions for photography!) and they only happen one time a year! This means, if things don't come together I have to wait an entire year again to get into place for the shots I want.

Can't decide if I wanna shoot at a Shinto Shrine or a Buddist Temple for the holiday....decisions decisions. Hopefully I can get out for the "Coming of Age Day" (Seijin Shiki) the weekend after New Years.

Anyone else going to be out and about? Maybe we can all meet back and post thumbnails of New Years at our part of the world.

I'm going to be in Pittsburgh and will be buying my new cam there before New Years Eve, when they have a huge display of fireworks in the city, which can be viewed from above the cityscape.

If i don't have my new camera i'll just have to use my N1 compact camera which won't be as good obviously but i will still have a go!

Hopefully will get something of this standard :
